About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain audio/visual systems for various events
- Lead and direct the activities of part-time and casual AV staff, providing training and guidance
- Create technical documentation and user support guides
- Schedule the setup and takedown of equipment required for events
- Implement rollout plans for new audio-visual technologies
- Edit post-production audio and/or visual material
- Manage equipment care, safety, and supply ordering
Requirements
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in the setup and operation of AV equipment in a live events setting (e.g., concert venues or professional event spaces)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and provide high-quality service to clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a post-secondary institution or the non-profit sector
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in workplace practices
