Assistant Teaching Professor, Education

Responsibilities

• Support undergraduate and graduate programs with a primary focus on Special Education PreK–12
• Demonstrate expertise in teaching, developing curriculum, and advising students
• Contribute to the growth of the School of Education’s initial and advanced certification programs
• Prepare students intellectually, professionally, and personally for their careers
• Participate actively in the life of the university and collaborate with colleagues
• Support and promote the University’s inclusive mission and Catholic identity

Requirements

• Earned doctorate (preferred) or master's degree in education completed by the time of appointment
• Minimum of three years of PreK–12 teaching experience
• Ability to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission and Catholic identity
• Knowledge of PDE SAS resources and PA Chapter 354 guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Special Education PreK–12 certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Experience teaching in undergraduate and graduate certification programs
• Experience developing curriculum and working with inclusive and diverse populations
• Certification or eligibility in Early Childhood or Secondary Education 7-12
