About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to children, including toileting, diaper changing, and administering medication
  • Actively supervise and ensure the safety of children in group settings of up to 15 children
  • Plan and implement play-based learning activities in accordance with the YMCA Curriculum
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with families, staff, and volunteers
  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs
  • Adhere to work schedules and demonstrate flexibility with routines and locations

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for travel between multiple locations
  • Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up-to-date immunizations in accordance with local public health standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Availability for split shifts (approximately 6:30–9:00 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m.) on school instructional days
