Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Support a safe, predictable classroom culture
• Build positive relationships with students
• Lead and support literacy and math small group instruction
• Prepare materials and help run Pursuits (interdisciplinary curriculum)
• Notice student needs and communicate quickly
• Support the lead teacher with classroom order, cleanliness, and student supervision during transitions, lunch, and recess
• Follow safety protocols and support coverage needs
• Communicate clearly and follow through on tasks

Requirements

• 1 or more years of experience working with children
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Warm, calm presence with children
• Reliable, consistent, and proactive attitude
• Comfortable assisting with instruction
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to report to work in person
