About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the classroom curriculum, adapting to meet the unique needs of each child
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, play, and learn
- Support children's development through structured activities, play, and positive behavior guidance
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to maintain classroom routines and organization
- Monitor and report children’s progress and any areas of concern to the Lead Teacher
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a clean and secure environment
- Uphold company standards and comply with state licensing requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 30–40 pounds
- Ability to engage physically with children (sitting on floor, bending, lifting)
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for assistant teachers
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting
