Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the classroom curriculum, adapting to meet the unique needs of each child
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore, play, and learn
• Support children's development through structured activities, play, and positive behavior guidance
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to maintain classroom routines and organization
• Monitor and report children’s progress and any areas of concern to the Lead Teacher
• Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a clean and secure environment
• Uphold company standards and comply with state licensing requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 30–40 pounds
• Ability to engage physically with children (sitting on floor, bending, lifting)
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
• Must meet all state licensing requirements for assistant teachers

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting
