Assistant Swim Coach

Responsibilities

• Assist the Trail Point Swim Coach in developing and implementing a team program that promotes sportsmanship and individual performance.
• Design and execute age-group swim practices aligned with swimmer development goals.
• Provide instruction on swimming skills and techniques appropriate to various skill levels.
• Support swimmer recruitment and retention by building relationships within the local swim community.
• Maintain proactive communication with swim families regarding practices, meets, and club events.
• Assist with the logistical execution and scheduling of swim meets, including coordination of home and away events.
• Monitor and maintain proper chemical balance and water quality across all Trail Point pools.
• Collaborate with aquatics staff to ensure seamless facility usage and programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a swim coach, instructor, or in competitive coaching.
• Current Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to assess the skill levels of youth swimmers and train them in appropriate techniques.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to understand and assess chemical and water quality.
• Proficiency with current software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered USA Swimming Coach.
• SafeSport Certification.
• American Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification.
• American Red Cross Principles of Coaches Training.
• Knowledge of Meet Manager and/or Team Unify software programs.
