About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Oral Health Center Stores to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery
- Coordinate procurement of clinical, laboratory, and research supplies, instruments, and equipment
- Process purchase requisitions and manage orders through approved purchasing methods, tracking deliveries and resolving vendor discrepancies
- Manage the receiving, verification, stocking, and distribution of goods to clinical and academic units
- Maintain optimal inventory levels through monitoring, forecasting, and conducting periodic counts
- Maintain accurate financial and inventory records, including annual counts for reconciliation and audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and University policies regarding the handling and storage of materials
- Administer instrument and equipment leasing programs, including tracking and maintenance coordination
- Provide guidance to staff and students on inventory procedures and the safe disposal of regulated materials
Requirements
- High school graduation
- Minimum of two years of related experience in inventory control, procurement, or stores operations
- Solid knowledge of purchasing processes, shipping and receiving, and inventory systems
- Experience with financial transactions, such as invoice processing or reconciliation
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience in a dental clinical, laboratory, or teaching environment
- Proficiency with inventory systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel)
- Knowledge of safe handling and storage of clinical or regulated materials
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment
- Ability to perform light material handling and operate step ladders in compliance with safety standards
