About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in supervising all retail operations and ensuring the store meets its mission of generating funds for community support.
  • Oversee the safety of customers, staff, and volunteers while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory by ensuring donations are retrieved, sorted, priced, and stocked appropriately.
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with cash operations, including daily deposits, cash register management, and financial reporting.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to staff and volunteers, especially in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Assist in planning store layouts, sales, promotions, and staff schedules.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in Retail Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of prior retail experience (experience with secondhand merchandise is preferred).
  • Proven experience in cash handling and basic accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move items up to 29 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including weekdays and Saturdays.
