Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in supervising all retail operational areas and staff
• Oversee the safety of customers, staff, and volunteers within the store
• Manage inventory by ensuring donations are retrieved, sorted, and priced appropriately
• Handle customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner
• Support cash operations, including nightly deposits and adherence to financial policies
• Assist with store layouts, sales planning, promotions, and auctions
• Provide direction, orientation, and training to staff and volunteers
• Perform administrative tasks, including staff scheduling and meeting coordination
• Sort, price, and stock various goods to maintain an attractive store environment

Requirements

• Completion of a post-secondary program in Retail Management or equivalent
• 2 years of prior retail experience (secondhand merchandise experience preferred)
• Proven experience with cash handling and cash register processes
• Basic accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 30 pounds
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule including weekdays, evenings, and weekends
