Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day store activities and manage team schedules
• Develop and implement operational action plans to improve store results
• Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
• Communicate performance expectations and company core values to the team
• Monitor the competitive local environment and provide product feedback
• Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
• Maintain store cleanliness, proper signage, and equipment working order
• Assist with product ordering, merchandising, and maintaining stock levels
• Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
• Knowledge of management principles concerning budgeting, personnel, and expenses
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks like stocking and bending
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to operate a cash register and store equipment (e.g., hand jack, floor scrubber)
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
