Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day store activities and manage team schedules
• Develop and implement operational action plans to improve store performance
• Identify training and development opportunities to grow the team
• Communicate performance expectations and job responsibilities to direct reports
• Monitor the competitive environment and provide product feedback to leadership
• Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
• Maintain store cleanliness, proper signage, and high standards of product freshness
• Assist with product ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels
• Resolve operational customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary
• Oversee merchandising to maximize sales and ensure quality standards

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive retail experience
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending, reaching, and standing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Proficiency in operating a cash register and basic store equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior management experience in a retail environment
