Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising day-to-day store activities and ensuring overall performance
• Manage schedules and develop operational action plans
• Identify training and development opportunities for the team
• Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
• Monitor the competitive environment and provide product feedback
• Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
• Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
• Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper signage
• Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues when necessary
• Ensure high levels of customer service

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive retail experience
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to lead others in providing customer service
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies
• Ability to operate a cash register efficiently
• Ability to operate equipment including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
