About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities for team members
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform leadership of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations regarding inventory
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies
  • Resolve operational customer concerns
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper signage
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and ensure high levels of customer service
  • Manage stock levels through appropriate product ordering

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to lead others in providing prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to safely operate equipment including electric/manual hand jacks and cardboard balers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
