Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
• Identify training and development opportunities for team members
• Monitor the competitive environment and inform leadership of necessary adjustments
• Provide product feedback and recommendations regarding inventory
• Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
• Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
• Resolve operational customer concerns
• Maintain store cleanliness, signage, and equipment standards
• Supervise day-to-day operations and team responsibilities
• Assist with achieving store payroll, loss budget, and inventory counts

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive retail experience
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Ability to lead others in providing customer service
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies
• Ability to manage budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
• Ability to operate a cash register efficiently
• Ability to operate equipment like electric/manual hand jacks and cardboard balers
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Physical ability to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds
