Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day store activities and manage team performance to ensure high levels of customer service
• Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing operational action plans to improve results
• Manage employee schedules and identify training opportunities to support team growth
• Monitor inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies to minimize losses
• Maintain store cleanliness, proper signage, and merchandising standards to maximize sales
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and accurate stock levels through appropriate ordering
• Resolve operational customer concerns and escalate issues to leadership when necessary
• Identify and rectify hazards to maintain a safe working environment and proper equipment functionality

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of management principles concerning budgeting, personnel, and expenses
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing
• Ability to operate equipment including electric/manual hand jacks and cardboard balers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
