Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day store activities and manage team performance to ensure high levels of customer service
• Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing operational action plans to improve results
• Manage staff schedules and identify training opportunities to support team growth and development
• Monitor inventory levels, oversee product ordering, and ensure proper merchandising to maximize sales
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety standards, and proper signage at all times
• Ensure adherence to cash control policies, inventory procedures, and product handling guidelines
• Resolve operational customer concerns and escalate issues to leadership when necessary

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing
• Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
• Ability to safely operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior management experience in a retail setting
• High School Diploma or equivalent
