Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day store activities and manage team performance to ensure high levels of customer service
• Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing operational action plans to improve results
• Manage employee schedules and identify training opportunities to support team growth
• Monitor inventory levels, product handling, and cash control policies to minimize losses
• Maintain store cleanliness, proper signage, and merchandising standards to maximize sales
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and accurate pricing throughout the store
• Resolve operational customer concerns and escalate issues to leadership when necessary
• Identify and rectify safety hazards to maintain a secure environment for staff and customers

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
• Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds regularly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Proficiency in operating a cash register and basic store equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior management or supervisory experience in a retail setting
