Assistant Softball Coach

Responsibilities

• Coach practice sessions, workouts, and assist with coaching responsibilities during athletic events
• Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes in coordination with the Head Coach
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress to ensure eligibility and adherence to university programs
• Ensure compliance with all University, OVC, and NCAA rules and regulations
• Work with athletic training staff and Team Physician to ensure student-athlete safety and health
• Participate in public relations activities, including interviews and news conferences

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Prior coaching experience
• Familiarity with OVC and NCAA rules and regulations
• Proficiency with computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Related experience in playing, coaching, or athletics administration
