Assistant Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily construction supervision activities for utilities works.
• Supervise the installation of water supply networks, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and district cooling systems.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Review and verify shop drawings, material submittals, and inspection requests.
• Coordinate site inspections and ensure adherence to quality assurance, quality control, and HSE standards.
• Coordinate with Abu Dhabi authorities and stakeholders for necessary approvals and inspections.
• Support progress monitoring, reporting, and the preparation of site records.
• Verify measurements and support the review of contractor payment applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction supervision.
• Mandatory experience working with construction supervision consultants on infrastructure and utilities projects.
• Proven experience on utilities projects within the UAE, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and supervision practices.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements (e.g., ADSSC, ADDC, ITC, municipality standards).
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering documentation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
