Assistant Resident Engineer (Infrastructure)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in administering day-to-day operational functions and field engineering assignments
• Perform constructability reviews and observe work in progress to ensure quality assurance
• Maintain compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards for all installations
• Provide technical engineering problem resolution and coordinate solutions within the assigned discipline
• Monitor construction schedules, material procurement, and progress appraisal data
• Ensure all tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented according to approved procedures
• Supervise site inspection staff and review contractor submissions
• Maintain daily logs and prepare progress reports for project turnover
• Ensure personnel engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure, road works, and utilities projects (dry and/or wet)
• Proven track record in supervising all aspects of road and general infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in engineering and construction software and computer applications for data management
• Strong command of English with excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes and industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of contractual relationships
• Experience managing as-built records and the handing over of utility works to service authorities
