About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish a research program focused on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and MYBPC3 gene variants
- Design and develop scientific experiments through independent or team-based science
- Conduct scientific writing, including publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings
- Provide teaching and mentorship to students, lab personnel, and fellows in a laboratory setting
Requirements
- PhD and/or MD degree
- Extensive research experience in cardiovascular medicine
- Specialized training in human stem-cell derived cardiomyocyte models and engineered cardiac tissue platforms
- Expertise in cardiac genetics and the study of contractile, calcium-handling, and electrophysiological mechanisms
- Proven record of scholarly ability, including peer-reviewed publications and presentation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the acquisition or potential for securing external research funding
