Assistant Regional Director, NJSBDC

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level support to the Regional Director in the strategic and operational management of the NJSBDC.
• Oversee daily operations, supervise key projects, and manage consultants and staff.
• Lead community outreach and stakeholder engagement, particularly within Bergen County.
• Support campus initiatives to foster student entrepreneurship through programs like Bring Your Own Business (BYOB).
• Lead youth entrepreneurship outreach in partnership with local schools, nonprofits, and business organizations.
• Manage data, performance metrics, and ensure strict grant and funding compliance.
• Represent the Center in internal and external engagements with business and government audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in business consulting, economic development, nonprofit administration, higher education, or small business management.
• Proven experience in program management and grant compliance.
• Strong skills in data analysis, project management, and performance-based reporting.
• Experience supervising teams and managing client services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and report production.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events.
