Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Control external contract expenditure through scope control, change management, and financial verification processes.
• Audit contract administration within delivery functions to ensure business process compliance.
• Measure supplier performance against contract KPIs and prepare associated improvement reports.
• Provide contract benchmarks, cost data, budget forecasts, and performance data for business improvement.
• Challenge contractor costs in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
• Manage contractual relationships and resolve disputes by interfacing with senior contractor staff.
• Develop project scopes, identify risks, and prepare budgets and Risk Registers for Target Cost works.
• Agree on the value of works for interim and progress payments with contractors.

Requirements

• Valid full driver's license.
• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying across multiple locations and high-volume works.
• Experience operating within a commercial market.
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
• Expert knowledge of analytical and quantity surveying techniques.
• Ability to write clear, precise reports and communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and various IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Awareness of statutory and license obligations within the electricity supply industry.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and financial control procedures for projects.
• Understanding of Electrical and Civil Engineering procedures.
