Assistant Project Director - Earthwork and Utilities

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a multi-million-pound portfolio of enabling and public utilities projects supporting theme park and resort development.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, including planning, scope development, contracting, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Manage the planning and execution of infrastructure developments such as central energy plants, process water facilities, and rainwater harvesting systems.
• Coordinate with UK utility statutory undertakers to align works with project schedules, budgets, and contractor phasing.
• Ensure project compliance with Environment Health & Safety (EHS) standards and obtain all necessary regulatory approvals and permits.
• Manage project finances, including budget oversight, cash flow, cost control, and the preparation of capital funding requests.
• Maintain hands-on management of field operations and implement efficient document control processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in construction project management, specifically within the infrastructure or commercial facilities industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods for enabling infrastructure, including mass grading, water management, and utilities.
• Experience coordinating with UK utility statutory undertakers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience using Bluebeam or equivalent PDF software.
• Ability to interpret design and construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• SIA licensing and/or relevant executive security certifications.
• Experience in project scheduling, estimating, bidding processes, and contract administration.
