Assistant Program Director

About the Company

Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco’s homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support case managers and other staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
• Implement program policies equitably and de-escalate client situations
• Build and cultivate collaborative community partnerships and funder relationships
• Strengthen communication and partnerships with hotel sites and staff
• Assist with coordinating intakes, transfers, and discharges
• Represent the CUAV program in internal and external meetings
• Manage the CUAV program in partnership with the Day Shift Assistant Program Director in the absence of the Program Director

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in social work or a related field
• Deep understanding of issues facing homeless and low-income families
• Experience with de-escalation and working with people in crisis
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Zoom
• Ability to work Sunday - Thursday, 1-9 pm

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience
• Fluency in Spanish
• Salesforce experience
