Assistant Professor (Statistics)

Responsibilities

• Teach a 6-course equivalent each academic year, including a wide range of statistics courses and general education requirements
• Advise undergraduate students and support their academic and professional growth
• Conduct scholarly research and engage in research collaborations with undergraduate students
• Serve the college and department through committee work and professional leadership
• Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive campus community

Requirements

• PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field
• At least one year of both theoretical and applied statistics coursework at the master’s level or higher
• Proficiency in R/RStudio, SAS, or Python
• Previous teaching experience

• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and a commitment to undergraduate student advising
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting students from varied backgrounds and identities
• Ability to conduct research or scholarly collaborations with undergraduates
• Interest in, and preparation for, leadership roles in the college and profession
