About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with a primary focus on the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program
- Develop and teach courses specializing in local government and city management
- Expand the program's online and hybrid course offerings
- Conduct scholarly research in public administration or related fields
- Advise students and participate in departmental service activities
- Contribute to related undergraduate programs within the School of Social Sciences and International Studies
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in Public Administration or a closely related field (must be completed by the start date)
- Experience teaching in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated scholarship in public administration or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the graduate level
- Experience developing online courses and academic programs
- Interest in developing interdisciplinary coursework
- Expertise in GIS, non-profit studies, public writing, ethics, civic literacy, or AI and data analytics
- Proven ability to secure external grant funding
