Assistant Professor, Psychology

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses, including introductory psychology, psychopathology, and psychological assessment
• Maintain an active research agenda and contribute to departmental activities
• Provide academic advising and participate in university service
• Mentor undergraduate students in their academic and professional development
• Teach capstone courses such as Senior Thesis and Practicum (preferred)

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited program
• Teaching experience at the college level
• Licensed or license eligible in the State of Washington (must obtain licensure within two years of employment)
• Personal commitment to the Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning
• Commitment to the educational mission of Whitworth as a Christian liberal arts university

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to teach specialized courses such as forensic psychology, multicultural psychology, or the psychology of trauma
• Experience teaching Senior Thesis and Practicum capstone courses
