Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology, Teaching experience at the college level, Licensed or license eligible in Washington State, Commitment to Christian faith and integration of faith and learning
About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses, including introductory psychology, psychopathology, and psychological assessment
- Maintain an active research agenda and contribute to departmental activities
- Provide academic advising and participate in university service
- Mentor undergraduate students in their academic and professional development
- Teach capstone courses such as Senior Thesis and Practicum (preferred)
Requirements
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited program
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Licensed or license eligible in the State of Washington (must obtain licensure within two years of employment)
- Personal commitment to the Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning
- Commitment to the educational mission of Whitworth as a Christian liberal arts university
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach specialized courses such as forensic psychology, multicultural psychology, or the psychology of trauma
- Experience teaching Senior Thesis and Practicum capstone courses
