Assistant Professor or Instructor of Human Resources

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 to 15 credit hours per semester in human resource management, organizational behavior, employment law, and related business areas.
• Develop and deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Participate in curriculum planning, program review, and the development of applied learning opportunities such as internships and SHRM student chapter engagement.
• Maintain an active program of scholarship aligned with ACBSP expectations.
• Support ACBSP accreditation through assessment, documentation, and continuous program improvement.
• Engage in service to the department, College, University, and profession through committee work and community partnerships.
• Facilitate workshops in collaboration with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and other regional stakeholders.

Requirements

• MBA with at least 18 hours of upper-level HR coursework.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or GPHR).
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Human Resource Management, Management, I/O Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
• Additional specialty certifications such as CCP, CBP, CEBS, or ATD certifications.
• Documented record of excellence in teaching demonstrated through evaluations or awards.
• Experience in course and curriculum design, particularly regarding ACBSP accreditation processes.
