Assistant Professor of Wildlife Biology (Aquatic Ecology)

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including Freshwater Ecology, Ichthyology, Zoology, and Population Ecology
• Manage classroom environments, student assessments, and learning management system usage
• Mentor students through the Omega project (senior research or capstone experience)
• Provide academic advising and tutoring to support student success
• Engage in scholarship and professional development to maintain field currency
• Promote and support undergraduate research opportunities
• Serve on various committees within the School, College, and Faculty Senate

Requirements

• PhD in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or a closely aligned discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in Fisheries Ecology or Ichthyology
• Previous college-level teaching experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong quantitative skills and expertise in Population Ecology
• Ability to contribute to the development of the Master of Science in Wildlife Conservation Sciences
• Experience developing curricula focused on applied ecology, conservation, and habitat restoration
