Assistant Professor of Veterinary Medicine

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver graduate-level courses, classes, and laboratory sessions in veterinary medicine.
• Serve as course coordinator for assigned integrated courses, ensuring alignment across instructors and curricular objectives.
• Utilize team-based learning and active-learning strategies to promote engagement and clinical decision-making.
• Create instructional materials, including learning videos, handouts, and presentations.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assessments to measure student achievement of learning outcomes.
• Engage in research or scholarly activity in veterinary medicine or veterinary education.
• Participate in College and University committees, meetings, and accreditation activities.
• Mentor students in scholarly inquiry and research skill development.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
• Eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree, residency training, or specialty board certification in a relevant discipline.
• Previous teaching experience in an academic setting.
• Veterinary clinical experience.
• Experience with course design, integration, or coordination in a veterinary curriculum.
• Demonstrated record of research, scholarly activity, or professional contributions.
