Assistant Professor of Veterinary Education and Director of Academic Excellence

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in professional identity and related topics within the professional skills curriculum.
• Develop and integrate learning modules that promote self-awareness, communication, resilience, and professional growth.
• Lead student academic support initiatives, including the OPCVM Tutorial Program and the recruitment/supervision of tutors.
• Provide individualized academic advising and create targeted study plans for students.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs to identify at-risk students and design intervention plans.
• Design, implement, and evaluate academic success programs to strengthen student learning and retention.
• Support NAVLE preparation and outcomes through targeted academic interventions.
• Engage in research and scholarly activity that enhances teaching and contributes to the veterinary profession.
• Serve on College and University committees and support student recruitment initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field of study.
• Minimum of three years of experience in higher education or related academic support roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral or terminal degree in Education or another relevant discipline.
• Experience teaching or advising in a professional or graduate program.
• Knowledge of veterinary education goals and student success outcomes.
