Assistant Professor of Theatre

Responsibilities

• Serve as a full-time faculty member for the BFA Acting and BFA Musical Theatre programs
• Teach approximately 24 credits per academic year, including courses in Acting, Voice & Speech, Movement, and Directing
• Serve as an adjudicator for incoming student auditions and recruitment endeavors
• Contribute to curriculum development and prepare outcomes assessment reports
• Support the Post Theatre Company (PtC) Mainstage season and student performance opportunities
• Foster a pedagogy that is consent-forward, identity-conscious, and trauma-informed
• Maintain an active scholarly or artistic profile demonstrating professional distinction

Requirements

• MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre (or extensive professional experience) with a specialty in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech, or Directing
• 3 or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
• Extensive experience in practice-based, studio performance
• Demonstrated professional and academic achievements and innovative pedagogy

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in specific movement methodologies such as Viewpoints, Michael Chekhov, Laban, Suzuki, Lecoq, or Grotowski
