MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre, Specialty in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech, or Directing, 3+ years undergraduate teaching experience, Extensive experience in practice-based studio performance
About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a full-time faculty member for the BFA Acting and BFA Musical Theatre programs
- Teach approximately 24 credits per academic year, including courses in Acting, Voice & Speech, Movement, and Directing
- Serve as an adjudicator for incoming student auditions and recruitment endeavors
- Contribute to curriculum development and prepare outcomes assessment reports
- Support the Post Theatre Company (PtC) Mainstage season and student performance opportunities
- Foster a pedagogy that is consent-forward, identity-conscious, and trauma-informed
- Maintain an active scholarly or artistic profile demonstrating professional distinction
Requirements
- MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre (or extensive professional experience) with a specialty in Acting, Movement, Voice and Speech, or Directing
- 3 or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- Extensive experience in practice-based, studio performance
- Demonstrated professional and academic achievements and innovative pedagogy
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in specific movement methodologies such as Viewpoints, Michael Chekhov, Laban, Suzuki, Lecoq, or Grotowski
