About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver graduate-level courses, classes, and laboratory sessions in small animal internal medicine.
- Utilize team-based learning and active-learning strategies to promote student engagement and clinical decision-making.
- Create instructional materials including learning videos, handouts, and presentations aligned with curricular objectives.
- Prepare, administer, and grade assessments to measure student achievement of learning outcomes.
- Engage in research or scholarly activity in small animal internal medicine to contribute to new knowledge.
- Mentor students in scholarly inquiry and research skill development.
- Participate in College and University committees, meetings, and accreditation activities.
- Foster professional relationships with peers, students, and external stakeholders to advance the College's mission.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
- Residency training, advanced degree, and/or specialty board certification in small animal internal medicine.
- Previous teaching experience in an academic setting.
- Veterinary clinical experience in small animal practice.
- Demonstrated record of research, scholarly activity, or professional contributions.
