Assistant Professor of Professional Life Skills; OPCVM

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver courses in professional identity, communication, ethics, and practice management.
• Develop and implement curriculum for the simulated client and communications program, including case study–based simulation exercises.
• Facilitate communication OSCE assessments and participate in the recruitment and training of simulated clients.
• Utilize active-learning strategies, such as team-based learning, to promote critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
• Create instructional materials including learning videos, handouts, and presentations.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assessments to measure student achievement of learning outcomes.
• Engage in research or scholarly activity that enhances veterinary education and supports the profession.
• Participate in College and University committees, service initiatives, and program accreditation activities.
• Mentor students in scholarly inquiry and professional development.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Florida.
• Proven veterinary clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced training in communication, professional identity, or a related area.
• Advanced degree and/or specialty board certification in a relevant discipline.
• Previous teaching experience in a veterinary or professional school setting.
