Assistant Professor of Practice/Academic Coordinator - Financial Planning Program

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in financial planning, including retirement, estate, tax, investment, and risk management
• Advise and mentor students on academic progress and career pathways within the financial planning profession
• Design and update curriculum to ensure alignment with CFP Board education requirements and industry standards
• Oversee day-to-day administration of the CFP Board Registered financial planning concentration
• Ensure ongoing compliance with CFP Board education requirements and coordinate course scheduling
• Participate in departmental and university committees, learning assessments, and student support activities

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution
• CFP® certification in good standing
• Evidence of effective college-level teaching or strong potential for teaching excellence
• Strong commitment to student engagement, advising, and professional development

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Financial Planning, Finance, or a closely related field
• ABD status in advanced dissertation stages
• Experience coordinating or administering a CFP Board Registered academic program
• Industry experience as a practicing CFP® professional
• Experience developing financial planning curriculum at the undergraduate or graduate level
• Active research agenda in financial planning, personal finance, or retirement income planning
