About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent applied piano lessons as the primary responsibility
- Teach in related areas such as chamber music or other areas of expertise
- Attract and retain students to grow piano enrollments within the Conservatory
- Collaborate with faculty to fulfill the University’s mission of student-centered learning
- Mentor and develop 21st-century musicians at an appropriate level for their major
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in the field of specialization (or equivalent professional experience)
- Evidence of exemplary teaching experience
- Evidence of scholarly or artistic achievements
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to attract, retain, and inspire diverse students
- Demonstrated ability as a performer and collaborator (soloist and chamber musician)
- Experience in large and small ensemble performance or coaching
- Experience developing entrepreneurial musical concepts for studio or classroom settings
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity, and social justice in a university setting
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into teaching and performance
