Assistant Professor of Practice, Finance

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI in Finance, fintech, data analytics for finance, and related subjects
• Develop and update course materials to reflect current tools, industry practices, and emerging applications of AI in financial services
• Contribute to the College’s AI in Business major through curriculum design, cross-departmental collaboration, and advising
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career development
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and program assessment
• Pursue scholarly or applied research in AI and finance (required for candidates seeking a reduced teaching load)

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution
• Demonstrated experience applying artificial intelligence or machine learning tools in a finance or business context
• Evidence of effective college-level teaching or strong potential for teaching excellence
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Finance, Financial Economics, Data Science, or a related field
• Industry experience in fintech, quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, or AI-driven financial applications
• Experience developing or teaching courses that integrate Python, machine learning, or AI tools in a finance curriculum
• Familiarity with AI in Business program design at the undergraduate or graduate level
• Active research agenda in AI, fintech, or quantitative finance
• Certifications in relevant areas such as Python for Data Science, Machine Learning, or CFA
