Assistant Professor of Political Science

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses including Introduction to Political Science, American Government, Quantitative Methods, and Policy Analysis and Writing.
• Lead and advance the department’s minor in Public Policy and Public Administration.
• Develop curriculum and mentor students within the Public Policy and Public Administration minor.
• Build professional relationships and opportunities for students at state and federal levels to expose them to public service and policy pathways.
• Maintain an active program of scholarly research and pursue publication in peer-reviewed outlets.
• Seek external funding to support research and program development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field (must be completed by the time of appointment).
• Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching experience.
• Demonstrated potential for scholarly research and publication.
• Knowledge of Public Policy or Public Administration.
• Ability to teach quantitative methods or applied policy courses.
