About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses including Introduction to Political Science, American Government, Quantitative Methods, and Policy Analysis and Writing.
- Lead and advance the department’s minor in Public Policy and Public Administration.
- Develop curriculum and mentor students within the Public Policy and Public Administration minor.
- Build professional relationships and opportunities for students at state and federal levels to expose them to public service and policy pathways.
- Maintain an active program of scholarly research and pursue publication in peer-reviewed outlets.
- Seek external funding to support research and program development.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field (must be completed by the time of appointment).
- Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching experience.
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly research and publication.
- Knowledge of Public Policy or Public Administration.
- Ability to teach quantitative methods or applied policy courses.
