Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in physical chemistry and/or general chemistry lectures and laboratories for majors and non-majors
• Conduct research and engage in scholarly activity, including publication and grant development
• Provide academic advising to students, helping them develop individualized educational plans and explore career goals
• Mentor chemistry majors through the research process
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and faculty meetings
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and program assessment efforts

Requirements

• PhD in Physical Chemistry or equivalent professional preparation
• Evidence of potential for effective teaching
• Evidence of potential for scholarly activity
• Educational preparation in accordance with University and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college-level teaching experience
