Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate chemistry courses, including Organic Chemistry I and II, General Chemistry, and Physical Science.
• Deliver instruction through various formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous online methods.
• Establish and maintain a robust scientific research program involving undergraduate students.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate students, providing academic guidance and support through regular office hours and campus engagement.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum design, instruction, assessment, and student retention strategies.
• Engage in scholarly growth by conducting research, publishing in professional journals, and presenting at national or regional meetings.
• Contribute to university service through shared governance, colloquia, and professional or community organizations.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry.
• Proven ability to establish and lead a research program suitable for undergraduate participation.
• Demonstrated experience in undergraduate instruction and student advising.
• Experience in grantsmanship and securing research funding.
