About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program and related laboratories.
- Conduct innovative research with an active scholarly agenda, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
- Collaborate with students on independent research and supervise student projects.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service, such as student advising and recruitment.
- Contribute to the university's commitment to inclusive excellence by fostering a diverse and equitable academic community.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (ABDs will be considered if the degree is completed prior to the start date).
- Demonstrated potential and dedication to teaching, research, and professional service.
- A strong commitment to inclusive excellence and fostering a sense of belonging for all students and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Mechanical Design (machine/mechanism design, mechatronics), solid mechanics, or manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Previous teaching experience at an ABET-accredited program with a focus on hands-on education.
- Industrial experience in the field of mechanical engineering.
- Strong interest in curriculum development for both lecture and laboratory-based courses.
