Responsibilities
- Teach introductory Geological Oceanography and upper-level Marine Stratigraphy and Sediment courses
- Develop new specialized courses in areas such as Coastal Geology or Marine Geology
- Lead an active research program that involves undergraduate students
- Participate in the interdisciplinary general education program, including Common Core rotations and first-year seminars
- Secure external funding to support research initiatives and departmental growth
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Oceanography, Marine Science, or a related field with a focus on geosciences
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship
- Proven ability to develop and execute a research plan accessible to undergraduate students
- Ability to secure external research funding
