Assistant Professor of Marine Science, Marine Geologist

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory Geological Oceanography and upper-level Marine Stratigraphy and Sediment courses
• Develop new specialized courses in areas such as Coastal Geology or Marine Geology
• Lead an active research program that involves undergraduate students
• Participate in the interdisciplinary general education program, including Common Core rotations and first-year seminars
• Secure external funding to support research initiatives and departmental growth

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Oceanography, Marine Science, or a related field with a focus on geosciences
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship
• Proven ability to develop and execute a research plan accessible to undergraduate students
• Ability to secure external research funding
