About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach approximately seven courses per year following a 3-1-3 format
  • Deliver introductory-level courses in Biological Oceanography and upper-level courses in Marine Mammalogy
  • Conduct undergraduate-accessible research utilizing the Galbraith Marine Science Laboratory and college vessels
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary general education program, including Core courses and first-year seminars
  • Secure external funding to establish and maintain an active research program

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Marine Science, Oceanography, or Biology
  • Demonstrated expertise in marine mammals (such as dolphins, manatees, or whales)
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student mentorship
  • Proven ability to develop a research plan involving undergraduate students
