About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach approximately seven courses per year following a 3-1-3 format
- Deliver introductory-level courses in Biological Oceanography and upper-level courses in Marine Mammalogy
- Conduct undergraduate-accessible research utilizing the Galbraith Marine Science Laboratory and college vessels
- Participate in the interdisciplinary general education program, including Core courses and first-year seminars
- Secure external funding to establish and maintain an active research program
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Marine Science, Oceanography, or Biology
- Demonstrated expertise in marine mammals (such as dolphins, manatees, or whales)
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student mentorship
- Proven ability to develop a research plan involving undergraduate students
