Assistant Professor of Family & Consumer Sciences

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and teach material from the approved curriculum in classroom and creative lab settings
• Assist students in achieving learning outcomes through experiential-based instruction
• Provide regular and timely feedback to students regarding their academic progress
• Advise students on matters related to academics, attendance, and professional behavior
• Participate in school retention and recruitment initiatives
• Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies
• Contribute to the development of curriculum for both residential and distance education environments
• Model a personal commitment to the mission and Christian worldview of Liberty University

Requirements

• Master's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Fashion Design/Merchandising, or a related field from an accredited institution
• At least 18 graduate credit hours directly related to Event Planning, Professional & Creative Industries, Fashion Merchandising, or Fashion Design
• Professional experience in the field of event planning and creative industries OR fashion design/merchandising

Preferred Qualifications

• MFA or Doctoral degree in a relevant field
• Teaching experience in higher education
• Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or ServSafe certification
• Extensive professional experience in the meeting, event, exhibition, hospitality, wedding, or fashion industries
