Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate skills labs and procedural training sessions for residents and students at GME partner institutions.
• Provide clinical service, patient care, and bedside teaching in clinical settings.
• Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs within the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Establish curriculum, subject matter, and methods of instruction for medical education.
• Engage in scientific scholarship and participate in scholarly activities.
• Mentor medical and other students, serving as an example of professional behavior and intellectual integrity.
• Participate in clinic quality assurance, faculty meetings, and departmental committees.

Requirements

• D.O. or M.D. degree.
• AOA or ABMS Board Certification or board eligibility.
• Ability to obtain licensure in the state of Tennessee through the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination or the Tennessee Medical State Board.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical or academic medicine teaching and leadership.
