About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve in a dual role as an Assistant Professor and the Program Coordinator for the M.Ed in School Counseling
- Perform faculty duties including teaching, conducting research, and providing mentorship to students
- Oversee daily operations, compliance, and strategic direction of the School Counseling program
- Ensure program alignment with CACREP standards and state licensure requirements
- Inspire and prepare future counselors to meet the diverse needs of children and adolescents in school settings
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Counselor Education
- Professional experience as a school counselor in a PK-12 education setting
- Licensed or license-eligible as a school counselor
- Demonstrated graduate teaching experience in counseling or a closely related field
- Knowledge of CACREP standards, CPCE content, and state licensure requirements
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Commitment to the mission and vision of Mississippi College
