Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses using innovative, student-centered, and active learning pedagogies
• Conduct interdisciplinary scholarship and research, ideally involving undergraduate students
• Develop new courses within your area of specialization in the new Computing, Media, and IT building
• Mentor students through teaching, advising, and supervising work-study positions
• Contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic community

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (candidates with significant industry experience may be considered for non-tenurable positions)
• Demonstrated interest in the relationship between computing and society
• Proven capability in both teaching and conducting research
• Strong commitment to diversity and engaging students from underrepresented groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in high-interest areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science Education
• Experience with interdisciplinary teaching in a liberal arts context
