Assistant Professor of Computer Networks and Communications

Responsibilities

• Teach approximately three courses per semester in engineering and engineering technology related to computer engineering
• Maintain an active scholarly research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations
• Provide service to the department, college, and university through student advising and recruitment
• Advise student capstone projects and participate in program accreditation processes
• Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence by fostering a vibrant and empowering campus community

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Computer Engineering or a related discipline (ABDs will be considered with a documented degree completion date)
• Potential for significant scholarly research and professional accomplishments
• Strong commitment to teaching, service, and mentoring students
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to an inclusive and diverse academic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching computer engineering or related disciplines at the undergraduate level
• Demonstrated potential to build an independent research program that includes undergraduate students
• Cisco Certification and applied professional experience in computer networks and communications
• Interest in course and curriculum development, student recruitment, and career preparation
