Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching responsibilities (approximately 80% of the role), including general chemistry lectures and laboratories for both majors and non-majors
• Conduct scholarly activity aligned with disciplinary interests
• Provide guided mentorship to undergraduate students through research opportunities
• Perform service in alignment with the mission of the University, the School, and the Department
• Participate in the LMU New Faculty Academy to ensure a smooth transition into the academic community

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or an appropriate related discipline
• Educational preparation in accordance with University and SACS requirements
• Evidence of potential for effective teaching
• Evidence of scholarly activity

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college-level teaching experience
